Project Life Tuesday: August

I'm waaaay behind on my Project Life posts....one of these days I'll get caught up.  Good news is, my book is still pretty much caught up.  Love, Love, LOVE Project Life.  If you're not sure what it is, check out Becky Higgins Website for the details.  It's the perfect system for people who simply don't have the time, space, $, energy to keep up with traditional scrapbooking.

Here are some of the photos from our first full week in August....I took all of these with my iPhone 4.  Can't say that I'm the hugest camera fan...I know some people LOVE it, but I can just never seem to get clear, well balanced in colour, photos...maybe someone has some tips for me?

This kid can get some SERIOUS bedhead!  He was quite proud of the 'hawk he was sporting this morning that he made me take a photo!

This is a two year old who didn't get his way.  :-)

We decided to make the transition to moving JT into AJ's room.  A month into it, and I'm not so sure that it was our best idea....bed time is taking 3 times as long as it used to.  They don't seem to wake each other up which is good, but I'm getting annoyed at having to tell them to "zip it" all the time.  JT has also joined the "terrible twos" age and is pretty much challenging us on everything....again, making bed time more difficult than I'd like it to be.  Poor AJ often tells us "He's TOO loud...make him STOP".  Hopefully this phase will pass soon and they will be best bedroom buds!

My relief after bedtime....blueberry vodka, lemonade and grenadine.  Tasty.  Thanks to Lorena and Evan for featuring this awesome drink at their wedding in July!

The kid clearly takes after me....I can fall asleep anywhere, anytime.

Seriously, it's a small miracle that the Hubs is the only one to kill any fish in this house...this kid can now climb up onto the dresser and "feed" the fish.  When it's all too quiet, this is where I find him.

Definitely NOT appreciating this on the other side of our fence....this would explain why my kids look like they have hives after playing outside for 10 mins...the mosquitoes multiply like wildfire.  One quick call to Maricopa County and the report has been filed.  ugh.

We have officially "arrived"...we welcomed a brand new Phillips LCD TV into our home.  It was time to retire my ancient TV whose picture was always a dark shade of purple and whose speakers required a good ol' whack to get the sound working.  I fear our kids will never remember what TVs used to look like...I'd better snag a photo of it before we toss it!

I'd been on the lookout for a new one for a while but with our Dave Ramsey budget, we were not in the market for a $1K tv...thanks to Amazon lightning deals and some ancient amazon points, we got this baby for $135.  Now that's a serious bargain!  I should note that it's also only 22in :-)  Ha!  It will be a great tv for the spare room/game room/our room when we actually have enough $$ to buy a big one...after we've paid off all of our debt, of course :-)

I honestly could not be prouder of our 22in little tv...cause the best part is, it's NOT on our Visa card :-)

Have a great week!  Now, I'm off to mix myself up a cocktail...

  1. Good for you snapping a shot of the unhappy 2yr old. Everyone should document the good, the bad and the ugly--that's life. Glad you reported that pool too and hope it gets cleaned up quick.

  2. 1. The shot of you and JT pouting/crying is HILARIOUS!!!!
    2. "Feeling the fish." That's just funny to think about!
    3. The pool is disgusting. How does anyone let it go that long? Does anyone live there right now? Gross gross gross!

  3. Yes, someone lives there....he's not a very good neighbour. I called the cops on him twice on Saturday....The pool pump was running this weekend, so I'm assuming he got a violation notice from the county, however, the boys are still being eaten alive by mosquitoes :-(
