31 DAYS OF FALL: becoming a soccer mom

It still shocks me every day that I am in my 30s, drive a minivan and have three littles in my care. The last 7-8 years seem like a total blur and sometimes I just can't wrap my head around how I got here!

Mornings like today are a perfect example. Andrew, who is 4.5 is participating in his first organized sport...soccer. He is as athletic as his parents...but he tries really hard and is having a great time! He is a great team player and wants to make sure everyone gets their fair shot at the ball.

This morning, as I'm parking my minivan and getting us to the field, I had another "how did I get here" moment where I looked around and saw the other couple hundred parents in their 30s, driving their vans and realized that yes, I AM one of them too!

I feel like this is a rite of passage of some sort...am I a bonafide grownup now? Or did that happen when Andrew was born and my brain is just now catching up?

Either way, I honestly couldn't be happier with where my life is right now...well, I'd be a wee bit happier if I had a housekeeper...seriously, 1st world problems are the ;-)

Here are a few photos of our little soccer star-hope your fall sports stars are doing great too!

  1. LOL, Lily is similar - tries to hard but is just not coordinated enough. Can you imagine the two of them on a team together? Hahaha!
