Gearing up for Halloween

With October 1st right around the corner, I took advantage of an extra 15 minutes I had this weekend to get started on a project for part of our Halloween decor.  I keep our Halloween stuff pretty simple as I prefer to have more seasonally generic home accessories but now that the kids are getting older, we are having fun immersing ourselves in all of the different holidays.

I picked up this awesome banner kit by American Crafts at Target.  They have an entire Halloween themed line of projects and scrapbook supplies that are only available at Target.

It came with everything I needed to put it together and it seriously only took me 15 minutes.

Once I laid everything out, I got started. I first peeled off the backing for the gold letters and adhered them to the black outlines. Then, I randomly selected a banner piece for each letter and attached those together. It was nice that I didn't need any additional supplies like adhesive...everything was preglued and just needed the backings removed to allow them to stick.

Once I was done assembling, I laced up the cards and hung it up.  Easy peasy!!

It looks great in our hallway and is a great compliment to the other decor I have planned to be placed out on this table. Since I have never had a mantel, this table is what I use for most of my decorative displays...the Halloween stuff will slowly get arranged here this week.

I've got one more project up my sleeve with another set of embellishments in the AC target line coming up this week...I hope you'll come back here to check it out on Wednesday! Be sure to check your craft section at Target for these fun projects by American Crafts!!

**Disclosure: I was NOT provided with this kit by American Crafts...I purchased it on my own and the opinions regarding the quality and ease of the project expressed in this post are my own. In fact I'm 100% sure American Crafts has no idea who I am but they make great stuff, including Project Life, so check them out!!**

  1. I hope they have this kit at Target in Canada. Our granddaughters would love making and hanging one. Thanks for the tips!
