2015 Reading List: Tuesday Talk Link Party #3

Hi There!  Welcome to Tuesday Talk here at Almond Place!  I love co-hosting this link up with so many great women!  I hope you'll link up and visit some of the other hosts. Becky at BYBMG is hosting a giveaway, so be sure to check her out.

Today, I'm talking all about books.  I have always been a reader.  I LOVE reading.  I love the smell of the pages. I love how a good book feels in my hand.  But mostly, I love losing myself in some really stories.  I'm the girl you could find at Barnes & Noble curled up with a stack of books by the fireplace reading the entire day away.  I vividly remember reading Tuesdays with Morrie at the local bookstore when I was in college and doing the ugly cry right there in front of everyone.  Books are AWESOME.

Well, throw in 3 kids and books have taken a back row seat.  This year though is the year I've got my list and I'm ready to jump in.  I'm excited for this albeit short, but list nonetheless.  Because like so many of you, my time is really limited and I have little time to waste on reading something that may or may not be stellar...so I've carefully selected these to read this year.

Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery.  This is such a Canadian classic.  It doesn't hurt that my parents live 25 mins away from the actual Green Gables/Cavendish on Prince Edward Island.  It's paradise.

Notes from a Blue Bike by Tsh Oxenreider  I have long admired Tsh.  I have followed her blog from the very begin days and so admire her and her family's constant quest for intentional and simple living.  I find myself nodding at everything she writes and honestly, her blog is one that has greatly influenced me as a mom and homemaker.

Pilgrim by Timothy Findley Another fantastic Canadian writer.  I've read The Wars and The Piano Man's Daughter and both were captivating stories and incredibly well written.  I'm looking forward to this story.  This book is probably the one the farthest in my "comfort" zone of subject/story matter so I'm anxious to find out if this book draws me in as well as the others did.

The Best Yes by Lysa TerKeurst This book has gotten a lot of hype in blog land and I can't wait to dive in.  It's another book about living intentionally and making wise choices in the midst of our overall chaotic world.  I love Lysa's Proverbs 31 Ministries and I have a feeling I am going to love this book!

Make it Happen by Lara Casey This woman seriously radiates joy.  She has had some incredibly challenging times but she is open, and caring and so encouraging.  This book is all about finding your purpose and making it happen!  I would love to attend one of her workshops, but for now, the book will have to do!

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr This book is another super popular one right now.  Again, it's a little outside of what I might normally pick but I'm going to jump on the bandwagon on this one and hope for the best!

The Fringe Hours by Jessica Turner Ok so I'm kind of cheating with this one because I'm nearly done this book.  This book is one that every woman needs!  It's all about finding YOU time in our busy days.  I was interviewed by Jessica as part of her research and I'm so excited for it's launch.  You can preorder it for it's release in a couple of weeks.  I am constantly underlining and nodding.  Be on the look out for a giveaway once it launches!

The Help by Kathryn Stockett I binge read this book a few years ago and it's been a story that I've thought about a lot over the years. I want to re-read this and really soak it in.  I've also never seen the movie....mostly because I didn't want it to ruin the book for me, but I've heard the movie is great and true to the story so I also plan on watching that.

Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand I have heard nothing but amazing things about this true story.  It's a true testament to faith and I can't wait to dive in.  Aside from The Fringe Hours, this will be the first book I crack open!

So there you have it....that's my list!  It's probably a little ambitious but it's less than a book a month and I know some of them with suck me and I'll zip right through them.

Do you have any suggestions of books I should get on my MUST READ NOW list?!  I'd love to hear them!  Feel free to leave a comment with your ideas!
