Summer Fun Friday: Our List

I'm so excited to launch this series today!  It's my oldest kiddo's last day of school and we are all chomping at the bit to get summer started.  I'm looking forward to a modified schedule, fewer commitments and really making sure the kids get a summer BREAK.

That being said...we are not letting everything fall by the way side.  We will be doing some homeschooling.  We are focusing on handwriting, reading and exploring our surroundings...the kids have a handwriting curriculum to work through, we are in the process of selecting 10 chapter books for each of them, they have Financial Peace Junior to work through and I'm putting together some materials for our Canada trip.

But mostly, I want to focus on having relaxation time and FUN!  This past week, we brainstormed and came up with a list of ideas to do this summer.  One of the things I made sure to do was to let the boys actually write their ideas.   They LOVED doing this! Andrew wrote his ideas, Jacob drew them!

Here's what our list looks like:

We're getting started with some fun things this weekend....Come on back next week, on Friday, to share your adventures!  If you're linking up, be sure to grab a button and share the link up with your friends!!

  1. I'm really excited for this link up every week! Thanks for hosting! - Jess

  2. What a fun list! We just added baby #2 to our family, but once things get back into a routine I should definitely have my son come up with his own list. He would love that!

You should also check out the eBook I just launched. It's called Summer Search for God and it's what I call a "Kid's Adventure Devotional." It takes fun summer activities a lot like the ones you have here and connects them to truth's about God in a way that kids can experience and remember. I'm currently giving it away free to subscribers. I'd love to have you check it out!

    1. Thanks, Liz! I'll definitely check it out! It's always nice to have something to relate to that's faith based now that our catechism classes have also ended for the summer :-) enjoy your new little one!
